RICHARD KENTON WEBB AT THE END OF THE EARTH

On 1 March 2014, gallery artist Richard Kenton Webb travelled to Tasmania to undertake a 2 month artist residency at LARQ (Landscape Art Research, Queenstown) - an internationally renowned artist studio and gallery space run by another of our gallery artists, Raymond Arnold.

Richard has been making VLogs of his time in Queenstown, Tasmania - a remarkable place that is both in the centre of a World Heritage Wilderness region and home to a huge mining industry, which supports the town financially and socially.

It is fascinating to watch Richard's process in his VLogs - both because it is such an interesting and insightful view into how he works and how his work develops, but also because each VLog episode/update reveals the shifts in his own sense of himself as an artist and film-maker over the course of the residency and in response to the landscape, community and state of clear-mindedness he finds himself in.
