One of the most persistent themes throughout the history of art is the relationship of humans to the world around them: The impact of environment or place on the development of identity, the construction of culture and the establishment and sharing of myths and history.

Many of our gallery artists share this focus in their practice and this exhibition presents a selection of works (some new, some re-found) by a number of the gallery's main artists: RS Mitchell, Ryutaro Ikeda, John Lendis, Raymond Arnold, Richard Fox, Troy Ruffels, Ange Mullen-Bryan and new works by Catherine Woo, Jennifer Newman and Melissa Smith.
